The End of Oak Street (2026)

My Review

A suburban neighbor in 1982 Michigan somehow gets transported back to the age of dinosaurs which could mean “The End of Oak Street.” Giant prehistoric creatures roam the streets and patrol the skies while everyone in the neighborhood and one family in particular fights for survival. Director-screenwriter David Robert Mitchell (“Under the Silver Lake” 2018) managed to put together a decent action-adventure family film with good acting, passable writing, and a satisfying conclusion.

The cast includes Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor as the harried couple, Maisy Stella and Christian Convery as their children, P. J. Byrne and Anne Gee Byrd as neighbors, Emily Kuroda as the librarian, and Hudson Meek and David Alexander Kaplan as friends of the kids. “The End of Oak Street” has been something of a box office disappointment for producer J. J. Abrams, Bad Robot, Jackson Pictures, and Warner Bros. Pictures. This movie has faced stiff competition from the two top films of the year in “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” and “The Odyssey.” It was filmed primarily in Atlanta, Georgia.
