The Foreigner (2017)

My Review

“The Foreigner” is the story of a former special forces operative turned London restaurant owner who is out for revenge for the murder of his daughter. It leads to a standoff with an Irish politician. The action thriller is well directed by Martin Campbell (“Casino Royale” 2006) from an acceptable screenplay by David Marconi, adapted from 1992 novel “The Chinaman” by Stephen Leather.

The cast includes Jackie Chan as the grief-stricken father, Pierce Brosnan as the First Minister of Northern Ireland, Orla Brady, Dermot Crowley, Lia Williams, and Liu Tao. The watchable “The Foreigner” was a hit at the box office for producer Jackie Chan, STXfilms, Wanda Pictures, H. Brothers Media, Jackie and J. J., and Wuzhou Film Distribution. It was filmed in London, England, and Northern Ireland.
