“The Gentlemen” is a crime drama about an American drug lord in England attempting to sell off his cannabis empire, setting off a terrible chain of events. Director-screenwriter Guy Ritchie (“The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” 2015) filled the movie with terrible production values, bad writing, and lousy performances. There is very little redeemable in this motion picture.
The cast includes Matthew McConaughey, Henry Golding, Eddie Marsan, Colin Farrell, Hugh Grant, Jason Wong, Jeremy Strong, Charlie Hunnam, Tom Wu, and Michelle Dockery. The unwatchable “The Gentlemen” was a financial success for Miramax, Toff Guy Films, and STXfilms. It was filmed in the UK.
