The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 (2015)

My Review

Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen sends a team of rebels into the capitol to liberate Panem from the dictatorship of President Snow in “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2.” Director Francis Lawrence, who directed all four films, brought this movie series to a satisfying conclusion with good production values and an excellent screenplay by Peter Craig and Danny Strong, adapted from the original “Hunger Games” novels by Suzanne Collins.

The cast includes Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Donald Sutherland, Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore, Jeffrey Wright, Stanley Tucci, Mahershala Ali, Jena Malone, Michelle Forbes, Patina Miller, Paula Malcomson, and Philip Seymour Hoffman in his final film role. “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2” was the ninth highest grossing film of 2015 for Lionsgate Films and Color Force. It was filmed in Germany and France. The first three movies were released in 2012, 2013, and 2014. A fifth and sixth films in the future include “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes” (2023) and “The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping” (2026).
