The Kill Room (2023)

My Review

“The Kill Room” is a comedy that tells the story of an art dealer who teams up with a hit man in a money-laundering scheme that unwittingly turns him into an avant-garde sensation in the art world. Director Nicole Paone put together this “comedy” that really has very few laughs, with the actors seemingly going through the motion of reciting lines. The screenplay by Jonathan Jacobson is unexciting, but not completely uninteresting.

The cast includes Uma Thurman, Joe Manganiello, Samuel L. Jackson, Debi Mazar, Maya Hawke, Larry Pine, Mike Doyle, Matthew Maher, Marianne Rendon, Liv Morgan, and Dree Hemingway, daughter of Mariel Hemingway and great-granddaughter of writer Ernest Hemingway. The barely watchable “The Kill Room” was a big flop at the box office for producer Uma Thurman, Yale Productions, Idiot Savant Pictures, and Shout! Studios.
