“The Man Who Knew Too Much” is a suspense-thriller film about an American couple and their young son vacationing in French Morocco who inadvertently get involved in international intrigue that threatens their very lives. Legendary producer-director Alfred Hitchcock put together this absolutely engrossing movie in the way only he can. The thrills, chills, and spills continue throughout the entire film.

The cast is headed by James Stewart and Doris Day, who deliver marvelous performances with their charismatic personalities. These are two big stars! The supporting cast includes Christopher Olsen, Bernard Miles, Brenda de Banzie, Ralph Truman, Carolyn Jones, Alan Mobray, Hillary Brooke, and Yves Brainville as the police inspector in Marrakech.

The editing and cinematography were always important in Hitch’s pictures, and this one is no exception, with George Tomasini and Robert Brooks in charge, respectively. The film, a remake of Hitchcock’s 1934 movie of the same name, won an Academy Award for Best Original Song (“Que Sera, Sera” Jay Livingston, Ray Evans), sung by Doris Day.

“The Man Who Knew Too Much” was a big hit in movie theaters for the Master of Suspense himself, Alfred Hitchcock, and Paramount Pictures. It was filmed in Morocco, England, and at Paramount Studios in Hollywood, in Technicolor and wide-screen Vista Vision.
