“The Wave” is a Norwegian disaster film about rock slides which cause a tidal wave threatening a tourist town in one of Norway’s fjords. The screenplay by John Kare Raake and Harald Rosenlow-Eeg is really textbook disaster storyline from the 1970’s American genre. And direction by Roar Uthaug make the whole picture very watchable.
The cast includes Kirstoffer Joner, Ane Dahl Torp, Jonas Hoff Oftebro, Thomas Bo Larsen, Eili Harboe, Edith Haagenrud-Sande, and Laila Goody as Margo. “The Wave” (“Bolgen” in Norwegian) is a product of Film Vast, Nordisk Film Distribusjon, and Magnolia Pictures. It was filmed in exteriors in Norway and interiors in Bulgaria.
