My Review

“The Wife” features Glenn Close in the title role as a woman reflecting on her life traveling to Sweden with her husband as he is set to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature. Secrets come to the surface as layers of her life are revealed in this tour de force performance by Close, skillfully directed by Swedish director Bjorn L. Runge from a powerful script by Jane Anderson.

The supporting cast includes Jonathan Pryce as Close’s husband, Max Irons as their son, Christian Slater, Elizabeth McGovern, Annie Stark, Harry Lloyd, Alex Wilton Regan, and Johan Widerberg. The watchable “The Wife” was a modest success in art house cinemas for Anonymous Content, Creative Scotland, Embarkment Films, and Sony Pictures Classics. It was filmed in Scotland and Sweden.
