My Review

“Thor: Ragnarok” is the third in the “Thor” franchise and tells the story of Thor returning to his home planet and having trouble with his brother Loki and his sister Hela. Director Taika Waititi did a good job with the film containing good production values, outstanding special effects, plenteous humor, loads of action, and good writing in the screenplay by Eric Pearson, Craig Kyle, and Christopher L. Yost.

The cast includes Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Karl Urban as Skurge, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Zachary Levi as Fandral, Benedict Cumberbatch as Stevie Strange, Stan Lee as a barber, and cameos by Luke Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, and Matt Damon.

The very watchable “Thor: Ragnarok” was the ninth highest grossing film of 2017 for producer Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, and The Walt Disney Company. It was filmed in Queensland, Australia. The four films in the series are “Thor” (2011), “Thor: The Dark World” (2013), “Thor: Ragnarok” (2017), and “Thor: Love and Thunder” (2022).
