Three Guys Named Mike (1951)

My Review

Jane Wyman stars as an airline flight attendant who unwittingly falls for three different suitors – an airline pilot, a scientist, and an advertising executive – “Three Guys Named Mike.” Once they discover each other, Jane must choose, once and for all! Director Charles Walters (“Easter Parade” 1948) put together an entertaining romantic comedy which, interestingly enough, also provides an inside look into the aviation industry of the early 1950’s.

The cast includes Jane Wyman as airline stewardess Marci Lewis, Howard Keel as the airline pilot, Van Johnson as the scientist, Barry Sullivan as the ad exec, Phyliss Kirk, Jeff Donnell, and Anne Sargent as fellow stewardesses, and Barbara Billingsley as the instructor at the stewardess training school. The very winsome and watchable “Three Guys Named Mike” was a hit at the box office for producer Armand Deutsch and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. It was filmed at MGM Studios in Culver City, the Wrigley Building in Chicago, and at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport in Cleveland.
