Julia Roberts and George Clooney have teamed up once again for another entertaining motion picture called “Ticket to Paradise.” This is a winsome romantic comedy, practically a guaranteed good time at the movies, smoothly directed by Oliver Parker (“Mama Mia! Here We Go Again” 2018), who also co-wrote the screenplay with Daniel Pipski. They play a divorced couple who team up to sabotage their daughter’s engagement to a seaweed farmer in Bali, Indonesia.
This is the pair’s fifth film together, so their chemistry is tried and tested, on full display on the big screen, with a supporting cast which includes Kaitlyn Dever as their daughter, Billie Lourd (Carrie Fisher’s daughter) as her college friend, Maxime Bouttier as the seaweed farmer, and Lucas Bravo as Robert’s boyfreind and airplane pilot. Another plus for the project is the location filming in picturesque Queensland, Australia, standing in for Bali. The watchable good time at the movies “Ticket to Paradise” was a box office hit for Working Title Films, Smokehouse Pictures, and Universal Pictures.
The four previous Clooney-Roberts collaborations have been “Ocean’s Eleven” (2001), “Confessions of a Dangerous Mind” (2002), “Ocean’s Twelve” (2004), and “Money Monster” (2016).
