My Review

Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios have hit the jackpot with “Toy Story 4.” This fourth computer-animated film in the popular “Toy Story” franchise is funny, warm, and homey family entertainment that has earned over one billion dollars at the global box office. Director Josh Cooley has done an excellent job in his motion picture debut. The screenplay by Stephany Folsom and Andrew Stanton helped make this the eighth highest grossing film of 2019. It was nominated for two Academy Awards, winning one for Best Animated Feature. The non-winner was Best Original Song (“I Can’t Let You Throw Yourself Away” written & performed by Randy Newman). “Toy Story 4” was nominated for one Golden Raspberry Award for Razzie Redeemer Award (Keanu Reeves).

The story continues with voice actors Tom Hanks (Woody), Tim Allen (Buzz), Annie Potts (Bo Peep), Tony Hale (Forky), Keanu Reeves (Duke), Jay Hernandez (Dad), Joan Cusack (Jessie), John Ratzenberger (Hamm), Bonnie Hunt (Dolly), June Squibb (Margaret), Carl Weathers (Combat Carl), Laurie Metcalf (Andy’s mom), Mel Brooks (Melephant Brooks), Carol Burnett (Chairol Burnett), Betty White (Bitey White), Carl Reiner (Carl Reineroceros), Patricia Arquette (Harmony’s mom), Timothy Dalton (Mr. Pricklepants), Rickey Hendersen (Oakland Athletics bobblehead), Estelle Harris (Mrs. Potato Head), and Don Rickles (Mr. Potato Head from archival recordings, as he passed away in 2017). “Toy Story 5” will be released on June 19, 2026.
