My Review

“Unbroken: Path to Redemption” is the continuing story of Olympic athlete and World War II veteran Louis Zamperini which began in the 2014 movie “Unbroken.” Director Harold Cronk (“God’s Not Dead” 2014) delved into his post-war experiences including problems with post-traumatic stress disorder, troubles in his marriage, and his conversion to Christianity at an early Billy Graham Crusade in Los Angeles in 1949. The excellent screenplay was written by Richard Friedenberg and Ken Hixon, adapted from the 2010 biography by Laura Hillenbrand.

The cast includes Samuel Hunt as Zamperini, Merritt Patterson, Vincenzo Amato, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Bobby Canto, Bob Gunton, Gary Cole, David Sakurai, David DeLuise (son of Dom DeLuise), and Will Graham as evangelist Billy Graham (his grandfather). The watchable and engrossing “Unbroken: Path to Redemption” was a box office disappointment for Pure Flix Entertainment and Universal 1440 Entertainment.
