Vacation (2015)

My Review

“Vacation” is a mediocre remake of “National Lampoon’s Vacation” (1983) which starred Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo. They make cameos as Clark and Ellen Griswold in this one, sloppily put together by directors-screenwriters John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein in their big screen debuts. It was filmed in Atlanta, Georgia.

The cast includes Ed Helms as Rusty Griswold, Christina Applegate as his wife, Skyler Grisondo and Steele Stebbins as their two sons, Leslie Mann and Chris Hemsworth as Rusty’s sister and brother-in-law, Charlie Day as a river rafting guide, Keegan-Michael Key and Regina Hall as a friends of the fam, Colin Hanks as Jake, Tim Heidecker as Utah cop, Nick Kroll as Colorado cop, Kaitlin Olson as Arizona cop, and Michael Pena as New Mexico cop. “Vacation” underperformed at the box office for New Line Cinema, RatPac-Dune Entertainment, and Warner Bros. Pictures.
