Yours, Mine & Ours (2005)

My Review

“Yours, Mine & Ours” is a comedy film where a widowed Coast Guard officer with eight disciplined children marries a free-spirited artist widow lady with ten chaotic children. Their attempt to blend the two families creates complete chaos, accompanied by a scheme by the kids to break them up. Director Raja Gosnell (“Home Alone 3” 1997) put together a formulaic film which is nonetheless entertaining with a good screenplay by Ron Burch and David Kidd.

Dennis Quaid and Rene Russo head the cast as the two parents determined to make their marriage work. Their solid performances are the core of the motion picture. Co-stars include Rip Torn, Linda Hunt, Jerry O’Connell, David Koechner, Josh Henderson, Sean Farris, Drake Bell, and Danielle Panabaker. The watchable “Yours, Mine & Ours” was a hit at the box office for Nickelodeon Movies, Sony Pictures Releasing, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Columbia Pictures, and Paramount Pictures. It was filmed in Pasadena and Culver City, California. It was a remake of the 1968 movie of the same name starring Henry Fonda and Lucille Ball.
